The Cullen Jewellery Guide to Styling Stacker Rings

Rings for every occasion are a must, so it might be time to enter the world of endless combinations to express your style with a stacker rings, or two. Stacker bands are a great way to compliment your engagement ring, or wear as a statement piece, and are designed to be versatile and layered, whether on the same finger or multiple fingers. Read on to discover what stacker bands actually are, our extensive range and how to style them.

What is ring stacking?

A ring stack is when you wear more than one ring next to each other on the same finger. The most common types of ‘stacks’ are engagement rings with wedding rings, or eternity rings that have been added long after the proposal for an anniversary or special occasion. These are just the most common however, with countless other combinations available as well as many other occasions that are worth celebrating like birthdays, birth of children or that job promotion you have been waiting for.

Stacking your rings are a great way to add a touch of creativity to your jewellery game as well as being a visually striking representation of your style.  By mixing and matching over time, you can build your story with every piece. Here are some different types of stacker rings to get you started…

Meet the Collection of Stackers

Meet Clara - This cigar band with a pavé edge is versatile for wear on every finger. While it’ll look great stacked with a dainty engagement ring, it’s also statement enough to be worn alone, or added to a stack with some other dainty infinity bands – because is one really ever enough ? It’s also a wonderful unisex wedding band option should you wish to match your band with your spouse.

Meet Eden - This simple stacking ring packs a punch, and is ideal for adding to an eclectic look with many dainty rings. The braided texture is one of the most eye catching of our minimal rings , the curves of which will beautifully blend with centre stones with rounded corners such as oval or round engagement rings. A great way to stack this ring would be to sandwich an engagement ring between, with the braided textures morphing into one from afar.

Meet Piper - This straight edge cigar wedding band is the cookie-cutter wedding band which was popularised well before engagement rings and wedding bands became a fashion statement, prompting brands and designers to find new ways to inject personality into rings. While on first glance this stackable ring seems masculine in its design, the bold look sits beautifully under the centre stone of an engagement ring, highlighting the beauty of the stone. On occasions where a dainty look is preferred, the cigar band can happily sit alone on another finger.

Meet Fleur - This beaded stacking ring is luxurious in its design, and will elevate any rings it is paired with. The smart smooth back of this ensures the ring sits comfortably on the finger for daily wear, making it the perfect wedding band, as well as a great stacking ring to alternate between fingers depending on your mood. Stacking multiple of these in different metal colours is a great way to mix metals while still creating a clean, symbiotic look.

Meet Rose - Cigar bands make wonderful stacking rings to wear daily thanks to their robust nature, and versatile style. The Rose Cigar Ring has uniformed ridges in a vertical pattern, great for elongating the finger and pairing with shorter centre stone styles. The boldness of this piece means it’ll work beautifully sandwiched between two thinner bands to create a new look.

Meet Neyda - This sharp curved edged cigar wedding band is a classic accompaniment to an engagement ring, as well as being a wonderful stacker with other pieces, like our sweet Felicity Baguette Stone Wedding Band. As with many of our wedding bands, the width of this can be adjusted to be as bold or sleek as needed for your aesthetic.

Meet Florence - While the Eden ring has a braided texture, the Florence ring has a pattern similar to a twisted rope. While these two rings have their differences, they are the perfect example of how these differences can compliment each other in a ring stack, or if worn side by side on different fingers.

Meet Dominique - Not for the classic minimalists, the Dominique Deep V Ring has a deep set V shape that perfectly compliments the curved band on our Riley Pear Solitaire . It can also be styled as a stunning stand alone piece to wear on a middle or index finger – whether you wish for the pointed edge to point away or toward you is entirely your choice.

How to style Stacker Bands

Now that you have seen a few different types of stacker bands, the important question is how to style them. The age old answer that is the same with all jewellery, is it is completely personal preference and up to you! For a balance between the allure and shine of precious metals and the signature sparkle of pave gemstones our Clara is a cigar band and a pavé band all in one! The pave edge can look incredibly elegant sandwiched between the engagement ring band and the cigar section of the Clara. On the other hand, if you like contrast and a bold aesthetic, our Rose or any thicker cigar style bands give a really nice distinction between the two rings making it clear they are two seperate pieces, yet still sit cohesively.
